Macy’s partnered with TV host Nina Parker to launch her first-ever plus-size fashion collection, the Nina Parker Collection, a milestone as the retailer’s first Black woman–designed plus-size line. Colormatics was brought in to produce a live-streamed launch event that introduced the collection, highlighted Nina’s personal story, and generated immediate consumer excitement.
The launch needed to do more than introduce clothing—it had to communicate a cultural moment. The collection represented inclusivity, representation, and body positivity in fashion, so the challenge was translating that significance into a digital-first experience that felt authentic, celebratory, and engaging in real time. At the same time, Macy’s needed to drive immediate awareness and traffic to both stores and macys.com during launch.
Colormatics produced and broadcasted a live-streamed launch event in New York, combining interviews, hosted segments, and interactive elements to bring the collection to life. Nina Parker appeared alongside co-host Danielle Young for a “Spill the Tea” themed livestream that included a live Q&A and conversational storytelling around the collection’s inspiration and design process. The production also integrated supporting content captured in Los Angeles, blending interview footage and photography with the live broadcast to create a cohesive, multi-platform rollout experience.
The livestream successfully engaged both press and consumers, with dozens of media members tuning in live and strong real-time attention during the broadcast. Following the event, thousands of shoppers visited Macy’s online store to explore and purchase the collection. The campaign also generated significant social and press buzz, helping position the launch as a meaningful cultural fashion moment rather than just a retail drop.
