Interactive Installations for ŠKODA at Milan Design Week

For Milan Design Week, YORD built two browser-based interactive installations around the Škoda EPIQ. The Interactive Wall turned visitors' Play-Doh sculptures into live 3D animation on an 8-metre LED screen. Recap of the Day took five photos of a visitor's time at the stand and generated a personalised social reel, delivered within 24 hours in one of five visual styles and ready to post straight to Instagram or TikTok. The stand drew close to 60,000 visitors and won a Fuorisalone Award.
Build a brand
Škoda was presenting the EPIQ at Milan Design Week, one of the most crowded design events in the world. The brief was to make the stand participatory rather than passive: visitors should leave having made something, and the brand's reach should extend past the venue through content those visitors shared themselves.
The agency's contribution
YORD designed and built two browser-based interactive installations for the stand. The first, the Interactive Wall, converted visitors' Play-Doh sculptures into live 3D animation on an 8-metre LED screen. The second, Recap of the Day, generated a personalised social reel from five visitor photos and delivered it ready to post to Instagram and TikTok. We owned concept, design, web application development, the 3D pipeline and the automated video generation system, plus on-site operation through the week.
What was delivered
3x higher social engagement from user-generated event content. Figure provided by YORD from the activation; the comparison basis and counting method have not been independently verified here. Nearly 60,000 visitors attended the stand and the activation won a Fuorisalone Award.

Challenge
Milan Design Week is one of the busiest design events in the world, and most stands there compete for the same few seconds of attention. Škoda wanted digital experiences that turned passive visitors into active participants — and that extended the brand's reach beyond the venue through content visitors would share themselves, rather than content the brand pushed out.
That set two hard constraints. The experiences had to work instantly for a walk-up audience with no app to install and no instructions to read, and anything a visitor made had to be good enough that they actually wanted to post it.
Solution
We built two installations, both running in the browser so nothing had to be installed.
**Interactive Wall.**Visitors shaped the EPIQ's design language in Play-Doh. Their physical sculpture was captured and converted into live 3D animation on an 8-metre LED screen, so the thing they had just made with their hands appeared at architectural scale in front of them.
Recap of the Day.
Five photos taken across a visitor's time at the stand were assembled automatically into a personalised social reel in one of five visual styles, delivered within 24 hours and formatted for Instagram and TikTok.
Our scope covered concept and design, the web applications, the real-time 3D pipeline, the automated video generation system, and operating both installations on site through the week.
Results
The activation reached close to 60,000 visitors and won a Fuorisalone Award.
The reels did the work they were built for: user-generated event content drove 3x higher social engagement.
