+67% Revenue & +36% Profit in 6 Months: Bearded Brothers' Plateau Recovery and Relaunch on Amazon
Bearded Brothers was plateaued with a 24-SKU snack food catalog and hit a setback in April 2024 when an internal execution misstep caused a temporary performance dip during a critical Amazon event. Adverio acknowledged the mistake directly, implemented immediate make-goods, and restructured how the account was managed. Six months later, the brand was up 67% on revenue and 36% on profit, tracking toward 7-figure annual revenue and outpacing its original growth forecast.
Challenge
The brand had two problems running at the same time. The first was structural: a lean 24-SKU catalog that had hit a growth ceiling without a clear path to scale. The second was operational: in April 2024, an internal communication breakdown at Adverio caused tasks to be executed out of sequence, resulting in missed milestones and a temporary dip in performance at a moment that mattered. Both problems needed to be addressed together for the recovery to hold.
Solution
Adverio's response to the execution failure was direct: we acknowledged it, offset the impact with complimentary make-good services, assigned a single accountable owner with a visible recovery plan, and introduced structural safeguards to prevent recurrence. A two-key launch rule was implemented for all revenue-critical changes. Pre-flight checklists were added to every major campaign action. The account was migrated to Basecamp for more transparent project management. Senior operators and a cross-functional control tower were added to the team. On the growth side, Adverio focused spend on high-margin, high-velocity SKUs, ran daily ad refinements with compounding micro-optimizations, and anchored all ad expansion to CRO and listing quality improvements first.
Results
Revenue grew 67% in six months. Profit grew 36% within the same window, inside ROI guardrails. The brand is now on pace for 7-figure annual revenue and tracking ahead of its original growth forecast. The structural safeguards introduced during remediation have since been rolled out across Adverio's full client portfolio.
What Went Wrong and What Changed
In April 2024, Adverio made a mistake. Internal communication broke down, tasks were approved but executed out of sequence, and Bearded Brothers experienced a temporary performance dip during a critical Amazon event. We're including this because it's part of the story, and because how an agency handles a failure matters as much as the results it delivers when everything goes right. Adverio acknowledged the mistake plainly, offset the impact immediately, and used the breakdown as the forcing function to restructure how revenue-critical work gets done across every client account. The two-key launch rule, pre-flight checklists, proactive canary alerts, and Basecamp migration all came out of this engagement. Bearded Brothers didn't just recover. The brand ended up better governed than before the setback.
"20%+ growth within the first quarter of working together. Strong delivery and guidance, outstanding execution. Strong understanding of how to grow and excellent at following through on their commitments. Overall, the partnership was great."
Nick Meyer, President, Bearded Brothers
