How did you get into your industry of advertising, branding, & marketing?

Ever since I was young, creativity has always been my passion. I pursued it academically and then started gaining practical experience through internships and freelance work, which eventually led me to start my own agency.

What do you like most about the industry?

I love that people in our industry are so passionate about their work. It's inspiring to be around individuals who are not only talented but also love what they do.

What changes have you seen occur since you got into this business?

Over the years, there's been a lot more new technologies and platforms that have changed the way we do business. It's been exciting to see and adapt to these changes, as they offer new ways to engage with audiences and deliver results for our clients.

What changes do you foresee occurring in the future?

I see a saturation of creative output that are generic because people are using the same tools to create them. I think the people with real craft will begin to create groundbreaking work that stands out.

What is the best piece of advice you've received in your career that pertains to your work, and how has it influenced your decisions?

The best piece of advice I've received and have learned from is to take the time to do things right the first time, because even though it may be harder at first, it is easier than breaking the habit of doing things wrong later on.

What is the biggest issue that your firm, or firms like yours, face?

I think the work we do can vary quite a bit in scope and scale, which can sometimes be a challenge in terms of resourcing and managing client expectations. We've learned to be very clear and upfront about what can be achieved within given timelines and budgets.

How do you stay updated on the latest technologies and tools relevant to your industry?

I am taking classes, certificates and learning from peers. Being involved in the community and attending industry events also helps us stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies.

How do you maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships?

We are very devoted to our clients. Open and honest communication is important. We want to be able to keep channels of communication clear and transparent during all parts of the life cycle and after. Our goal is to not only help clients accomplish their goals, but to do so in a way that builds a strong, lasting relationship.

How do you manage work-life balance as an agency owner or executive?

It took me many years to learn about balance. I now prioritize my time and focus on what's important both in my personal life and business. Setting boundaries and being mindful about how I spend my time has been crucial.

What activities or hobbies outside of work do you enjoy that help you recharge and stay creative?

I love getting involved in the community and volunteering my time to causes I'm passionate about. This allows me to disconnect, recharge, and ultimately brings fresh perspectives to my work.

What is your approach to continuous improvement and learning within your agency?

Adopting a life long learner mindset is key in our industry. We encourage our team to seek out new knowledge, skills, and experiences that can contribute to both personal growth and the success of our agency.

What role does networking play in growing your agency's business?

Networking has been such an organic part of our growth. It allows us to meet potential clients, partners, and even team members in a more casual and genuine way. We've found that some of our best opportunities have come from casual conversations at industry events or social gatherings.

Can you share an experience where your agency went above and beyond to exceed client expectations?

Our agency's vision is to consistently exceed client expectations. One memorable project involved a tight turnaround for a client's product launch. Our team worked around the clock, leveraging our creativity and technical skills to deliver a campaign that not only met the deadline but also significantly boosted the client's sales and brand visibility.

How do you ensure that your team members stay motivated and engaged in their work?

We connect with our team members often to discuss their goals, provide feedback, and recognize their achievements. Creating a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and inspired is key to our agency's success.

If a company was looking to hire your firm, or a firm like yours, what questions should they ask themselves as a team before approaching you?

I think if a firm is looking to hire Outright or a similar agency, they should first understand their own objectives and what they aim to achieve with our partnership. It's also important to consider whether they're looking for a long-term strategic partner or a one-off project execution.

If someone were thinking about starting their own agency in your industry, what advice would you give them?

My recommendation would be to think about the kind of work you want to be doing and the clients you want to attract. It's important to have a clear vision and mission for your agency. Also, networking and relationship building are key in the early stages.
