What’s your backstory — how did you end up starting (or joining) an agency?

I've been with VBOUT for over 12 years. I joined in 2013 when the company was still in its startup phase. The founder and CEO invited me to come on board and help build the company. It was his encouragement that got me started, and I've been part of the journey ever since.

What was your first entrepreneurial moment as a kid or teen?

While I wasn't the entrepreneur, my first taste of entrepreneurship came in 2013 when I joined VBOUT. At that time, the company was just starting out. It was an exciting time, and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed being part of a team that was building something from scratch.

What’s a belief you’ve changed your mind about in the last 3 years?

In the past few years, I’ve shifted my perspective on the value of independent research. I used to believe that asking others for answers was the quickest way to find solutions, but I've come to realize that by taking the time to thoroughly investigate and dig into the available information, you can often uncover exactly what you need. It’s empowering to know that with the right approach and mindset, the answers are out there waiting to be found.

When do you feel most energized at work?

I feel most energized at work after my workout. It helps clear my mind, boost my focus, and gives me that extra energy to tackle the day’s challenges. Starting the day with exercise really sets a positive tone for everything that follows.

What’s a day in your life really look like (no filters)?

I felt most energized at work when I was promoted to Marketing Manager. It was a transitional phase for me, as it meant taking on more responsibility and having a bigger impact on the company’s growth.

What’s a personal ritual or habit you credit for your success?

A personal habit I credit for my success is my commitment to doing my best and ensuring that I complete tasks to the highest standard. I’ve always believed in putting in the effort to get things done perfectly, whether it’s a project at work or something personal. It’s this attention to detail and drive for excellence that has helped me stay focused and succeed in my role.

What’s one mistake you made early on that taught you something lasting?

Early on, I learned the hard way that reviewing my work twice can save a lot of time and prevent errors. I used to rush through tasks, thinking I could fix things later, but I realized that taking the extra moment to double-check can make all the difference.

What’s something people get wrong about you?

I don’t think there’s anything people commonly get wrong about me. I strive to be transparent and straightforward, so what you see is what you get.

What do you do to recharge outside of work?

To recharge outside of work, I focus on working out. It helps clear my mind, relieve stress, and gives me the energy I need to reset and feel refreshed.

What’s your definition of “success” right now?

For me, success is about the willingness to always seek improvement and never stop learning.

What makes your agency different from others in your space?

We hire based on the needs of our current vacancies and review resumes to find the best fit. We look for candidates with strong expertise and the right qualifications, but also someone who shares our values and can contribute to our team's growth and success.

How do you foster creative thinking on your team?

I encourage my team to continuously learn and brainstorm new ideas. I make it a point to praise their great contributions and motivate them to keep pushing boundaries. By fostering an environment where creative thinking is valued and rewarded, I help inspire them to bring even more innovative ideas to the table.

What trend in marketing/advertising do you think is overhyped?

I think the overhyped trend in marketing is relying too heavily on automation without a personal touch. While automation is a powerful tool, it can’t replace the human element that builds genuine connections with customers.

What’s a trend you’re betting on long-term?

I’m betting on email marketing for the long term. Despite the rise of new channels, email remains one of the most effective and direct ways to engage with customers.

What’s one small decision that led to a big result for your agency?

One small decision that had a big impact was listing our company on review platforms like G2 Crowd, Capterra, and Software Advice. It may have seemed like a minor step at the time, but it significantly increased our visibility, credibility, and ultimately, helped us attract more clients and grow our reputation in the market.

What advice would you give to someone starting an agency today?

You don’t need a lot of money or resources to get started. Begin with what you have, and focus on small, impactful initiatives that can produce big results. As your agency grows, you can expand and invest more. It’s all about starting small and building steadily, rather than waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect budget.

What’s something you’d do differently if you were starting from scratch?

If I were starting from scratch, I’d focus on creating unique, tailored resources specifically for our ideal customer profiles (ICPs), rather than relying on generic content. Customizing our approach would help us better address the specific needs and pain points of our audience, building stronger connections and driving more meaningful results.

How do you approach pricing — any rules you live by?

We start by conducting a competitive analysis to gather insights and ideas. Then, we compare those findings with our current pricing model. Additionally, we actively seek feedback from our customers to ensure that our pricing aligns with the value we provide and remains suitable for their needs. It's all about balancing customer satisfaction with profitability to ensure a fair and sustainable pricing strategy.

How do you prioritize growth vs. sustainability?

We prioritize both growth and sustainability by focusing on steady, long-term expansion rather than rapid, short-term gains.

Who’s one founder or operator you really admire — and why?

I really admire Richard Fallah, the CEO of our company. He’s taught us the importance of understanding the ""what"" and ""why"" behind everything we do before diving into any campaign. His focus on strategy and results has been a key driving force in our success, always pushing us to think critically and work toward effective outcomes.

I prefer a remote setup, working from a dedicated room in my home with a desk and a big screen. It helps me stay focused and productive, away from the noise and distractions that can come with other environments. Having a quiet space allows me to concentrate fully and get more done.

What is your most controversial or unpopular belief?

I believe it’s not about the quantity of your daily work, but the quality. Many people focus on getting as much done as possible, but true success comes from producing work that’s thoughtful, effective, and impactful.

What’s one thing you wish clients understood better about agency work?

I wish clients understood that while our platform offers a wide range of features, it may have some limitations. We strive to meet their needs as best as we can, but there are times when delivering everything they envision may not be feasible. Setting realistic expectations helps ensure a smoother and more productive collaboration.

What’s your favorite thing about being in this industry?

My favorite thing about being in this industry is understanding customers' needs. It’s rewarding to connect with clients, understand their challenges, and help tailor solutions that make a real difference in their success.
