
Seven Coffee Roasters is a small Seattle roastery that’s been delighting customers with its one-of-a-kind Hawaiian-born coffees for over 15 years. While it has quite the loyal following among small businesses, owner Sean Lee wanted to expand the retail side to distribute and sell his java to the rest of the country. Seven’s online sales and newly-created subscription service needed a jolt (of more than just caffeine) to be successful. In order to expand, we identified three main objectives: 1. Convert website traffic into paying customers utilizing a high value content offering to capture contact information and a drip series to drive conversions. 2. Continually engage potential customers with 2 to 4 emails a month to stay top of mind increase purchase / repurchase rate 3. Build and maintain a comprehensive email automation system utilizing eCommerce triggers to convert interest into sales 4. Leverage existing customers and past customers using email automation to bring in new reviews (social proof) and to drive win/backs to customers who may have left.
We exceeded business goals by implementing the following: Convert website traffic into paying customers. What better way to entice a purchase than to offer savings on an order? An appealing value-add module was built and added to the Seven Roasters’ home page. This strategy also provided an opportunity to collect contact information. Engage potential customers to stay top-of-mind and increase repurchase rate. To keep Seven Roasters Coffee in front of their audience and engaged with fresh content, we planned to create two to four attractive emails each month. These emails would contain valuable information to invoke trust and connection, encouraging repurchase. Additionally, our talented writers crafted strong, SEO-focused blogs to post to the website. Build an automation system to convert interest into sales. Automated messages save time, money, and effort, as well as increase sales. We produced several automated emails that moved prospects through their sales funnel. eCommerce triggers delivered additional sales by reaching readers at just the right time.
Our full-flavored approach brought in some serious results. The automation series increased Sean’s email sales by 123% in the first three months. When adding in the sales from the email campaigns, that number jumped to a 362% bump! Our messages saw open rates as high as 67%, with click rates up to an impressive 11%.
