Reviews
Everything about collecting, managing, and understanding client reviews.
How do reviews work on 50Pros?
Reviews on 50Pros come from two sources: (1) client-submitted reviews, where you send a review request to a past client and they submit their feedback directly through a unique link, and (2) self-added reviews, where you enter a client's feedback on their behalf during your 7-day onboarding window. Both types go through the same content moderation process before being published on your profile. Reviews include an overall rating, sub-ratings for quality, schedule, cost, and willingness to refer, plus a written review. All reviews must be original content written specifically for 50Pros.
What is the 7-day self-review window?
When you first claim your agency profile, you get a 7-day window to add existing client reviews yourself. This helps you build your profile's reputation from day one by capturing feedback from past clients. During this window, you'll see a countdown banner on your Reviews dashboard page. Self-added reviews require the reviewer's full name and company, a minimum 15-word review body, and star ratings. All self-added reviews go through the same content moderation process as client-submitted reviews and are clearly labeled. After the 7-day window closes, new reviews can only come from clients submitting directly through review request links.
What are the guidelines for self-added reviews?
Self-added reviews must represent genuine client feedback. Write the review in your own words based on real client experiences -- do not copy or paraphrase text from any other platform. Each review must include the reviewer's real name and company, an overall star rating, and at least 15 words of review text. Our moderation system checks for plagiarized content, spam patterns, and suspicious rating patterns. Reviews that fail moderation will be rejected. Be honest and specific about the work you did, the results achieved, and the client's experience. Authentic reviews with balanced detail perform better and build more trust with potential clients than generic praise.
Can I copy reviews from Google, Clutch, G2, or other platforms?
No. You cannot copy, paste, or republish reviews from any other platform onto your 50Pros profile. This includes Google, Clutch, G2, Yelp, Capterra, TrustPilot, and any other review site. There are several reasons for this: (1) Most platforms explicitly prohibit it -- Google's Maps Terms of Service forbid redistributing or copying review content, and Clutch, G2, and others have similar restrictions. (2) Review text is the intellectual property of the reviewer, not the agency. Republishing it without the reviewer's explicit consent on our platform creates liability. (3) Our moderation system actively detects content copied from other platforms and will reject it. Instead, reach out to those same clients and ask them to write a fresh review for your 50Pros profile -- clients who've already reviewed you elsewhere are usually happy to do it again. During your 7-day onboarding window, you can also add reviews yourself based on real client feedback, but you must write them in your own words.
Do you support anonymous or confidential reviews?
Not at this time. All reviews on 50Pros require the reviewer's name and optionally their company. We do not currently support anonymous reviews where the reviewer's identity is hidden but verified behind the scenes. We understand that some reviewers may have company policies that prevent them from publicly attaching their name to a review. This is something we're evaluating for the future. In the meantime, if a client is unable to leave a named review, you can have them reach out to our team and we'll work with them on a case-by-case basis.
How do I invite clients to leave a review?
From your dashboard, go to Reviews and use the review request tools to send email invitations to past clients. Each invitation contains a unique link that lets the client submit their review without needing a 50Pros account. The review form asks for their name, company, star ratings across multiple dimensions, a written review, and an optional project description. All reviews go through content moderation before being published. This is the primary way to collect reviews after your 7-day self-review window has closed.
How do reviews affect my ranking and badges?
Reviews are one of the most important factors in your agency's visibility. Your average rating and review count both influence your Brand Strength score and directory ranking. Agencies with 5 or more reviews and a 4.5+ average earn the Top Rated badge, which adds a trust signal to your listing. High willingness-to-refer scores across your reviews contribute to the Client Favorite badge. Reviews also factor into quarterly award eligibility, where agencies are ranked by category based on overall Brand Strength. The more genuine, high-quality reviews you collect, the stronger your profile becomes.
What happens when a review is submitted?
Every review goes through automated content moderation before being published. The system checks for profanity, spam patterns, formatting quality, plagiarized content from other platforms, suspicious rating patterns, and misleading claims. Reviews that pass moderation are published to your profile. Reviews that are flagged are held for manual review by our team, and you'll be notified by email when a review is approved or rejected. If a review is rejected, you'll receive the reason. You can also respond to published reviews from your dashboard to thank clients or address concerns.
Can I dispute or remove a review?
If you believe a review is fraudulent, inaccurate, or violates our content guidelines, contact our support team with details about the concern. Our moderation team investigates all disputes and may request additional context from both parties. Legitimate reasons for removal include reviews from non-clients, reviews containing false claims, defamatory content, or reviews that violate our Terms of Service. We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative -- honest critical feedback is valuable to the platform's integrity. You can respond to any review from your dashboard to share your perspective publicly.
How do review request statuses work?
When you send a review request from your dashboard, it goes through several statuses that help you track progress: Pending (request created but email not yet sent), Sent (invitation email delivered to the client), Opened (the client clicked the review link in the email), Completed (the client submitted their review), and Expired (the review link expired after 30 days without a submission). You can view the status of all your review requests from the Reviews section of your dashboard. If a request expires, you can send a new invitation to the same client. Clients do not need a 50Pros account to submit a review — they simply click the unique link in the email.
How do I embed the review widget on my website?
50Pros provides an embeddable review widget that displays your agency’s rating, review count, and a verification certificate directly on your own website. From your dashboard, go to the Reviews section to find the widget embed code. The widget is a lightweight script tag that you paste into your website’s HTML. It automatically displays your current star rating, total review count, and a "Verified by 50Pros" trust badge. Clicking the widget takes visitors to your full 50Pros profile where they can read all your reviews. The widget updates automatically whenever you receive new reviews, so you never need to manually update the embed code. The widget also includes a certificate view that shows your verification status and overall performance metrics.
